Comfortable Contact Lenses
At Eye Image, your comfort and ocular health are of great concern to us. As such, we offer a large selection of contact lenses to accommodate your ophthalmic needs and lifestyle. Whether you experience an issue with dry eyes, astigmatism or difficulty reading at night, we can help you correct those issues. We are focused on taking the time to give you adequate comfort and vision. Here are some of the main types of contact lenses that are constantly being improved to offer you better comfort and vision:
Soft contacts
As their name implies, soft contacts are soft and easy to adjust. This tends to make them more comfortable than rigid gas-permeable lenses.
Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) Contacts
This type of contact lens is durable and resistant to deposit buildups. They tend to last longer than soft lenses because they’re less susceptible to tearing.
Continuous Wear Contacts
Continuous wear contacts can be worn anywhere from 1-6 nights continuously up to 30 days. The amount of time they can be worn will vary for each individual.
Disposable (Replacement) Contacts
This type of contact is worn by the majority of soft contact lens wearers, but they do need frequent replacement.
Hybrid Contacts
This type of contact combines a rigid gas-permeable center to correct farsightedness and nearsightedness with the comfort of a surrounding soft lens for comfort.
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) Contacts
This type of contact uses RPG lenses to correct your cornea’s curvature while improving nearsightedness.
Overnight Ortho-K Contacts
This type of contact is usually prescribed for use while you’re sleeping to help temporarily improve your vision throughout the day.
Decorative (Plano) Contacts
This type of contact is usually used to change your eye’s colour and appearance, but they lack any vision corrective properties.
Scleral Contacts
This type of contact is a larger-sized gas-permeable lens that is used to help correct ocular surface disease, dry eyes, keratoconus and other issues.
Prosthetic Contacts
This type of contact is used to help improve the cosmetic appearance of your eyes, specifically when pupil irregularities exist.
